Jes Ekker works as a book reviewer and aspiring author. She commissioned my personal brand design services to light a fire under herself to finish her first novel.
Personal Brand Design – Behind The Scenes
As part of my brand design client onboarding, I ask the client to fill out a questionnaire about their brand. In addition to the questionnaire, Jes provided an image that inspired her. First, taking all of this into consideration, I built a mood board to see if I am on the right track in terms of look and feel of the brand.
The Importance of “Personal” in Brand Design Services
Next, I created a few options for her logo.
Upon seeing them, she realized that the direction she had previously thought she wanted to go (handwriting style wordmark), wasn’t ringing true for her. So we went back to the drawing board (literally) and came out with something that felt just right.
Personal Brand Guide
Finally, I took all of the pieces of the beginning brand identity puzzle and built Jes a brand style guide to help her navigate the use of her new logo, palette, and typography selection. I can’t wait to see how these are brought to life in her work.
